Kathryn Spetz, owner and designer for Spetz Productions, began her career while growing up in Florida's Tampa Bay area. She inherited her artistic talent from her British mother, a theatre and film designer, and technical skill from her father, a rocket scientist. Kathy is an award-winning artist who received her degree in Fashion Design from Florida State University. In 1973 she became the corporate designer at Six Flags Over Georgia, where she developed the mass-production unit for park personnel and was the "character lady" who designed and built the park's character costumes. In 1978 Kathy began Spetz Productions to meet the growing demand for unique mascots in the United States and Canada. Spetz Productions' costumes have represented corporations and sports teams at the World Series, the Olympic Games, Presidential Inaugurations, and countless parades, conventions, and pageants. The company has been profiled in national and local publications and featured on major television networks. The experience that comes from Kathy's lifelong career in art and design makes Spetz Productions a leader in mascot design.
